Going to football games, or matter of fact any type of sporting event is something like no other. You could be the home team or not, either way, you're in an passionate and enthusiastic atmosphere.
As a Packers fan I think about everyday how Aaron Rodgers could possibly not be with Green Bay next year. I personally think he isn't going to leave. Jones is signed through three more years and so is Bak. Adams needs resigned this coming offseason and I thin that contract is going to have a huge impact on Rodgers' decision. It seems that things have gotten better with the front office as well. But either way, I love the Packers no matter what. I just secretly hope that the deal gets done.
Because I am so scared Rodgers is going to leave, I have tried to make it to as many close games as I can this season. It gets expensive but to me its worth it. I made the three hour drive down to Cincinnati week five of the season. Of course my best friend Taylor was so nice as to accompany me to the game. She's a 49ers fan so rooting for the Packers isn't her happiest moments. She low-key was rooting for the Bengals anyways. This game was a mess. Rodgers threw an INT, Crosby missed three field goals and Jamar Chase had over 150 yards. In the end the Packers came out on top but I came out on the floor because i'm pretty sure I had a heart attack. I was so happy to be able to attend a game because I haven't been to one in about three seasons. Little did I know that the next weekend I would be traveling again to see the Packers play.

Cincinnati was a great city, Id definitely go back. in fact, I did for the Raiders at Bengals playoff game because my mom is a Las Vegas fan. But no city I have ever been to compares to Chicago. The way the city lights up at night, the fresh air, the immense amount of things to do, the nice people, the amazing food. Id live there if I could, even though I hate the cold. What's even better is that Aaron Rodgers owns the city and their football team the Bears, so walking around in Packers gear might not get me in as much trouble as you'd think. I made the six and half hour drive to Chicago, again with my best friend Taylor. We stayed the entire weekend so we had a chance to explore. The week six matchup wasn't one I was very nervous about but as a Ohio State Buckeye fan I know what type of level Justin Fields can preform at. My seats were right on the goal line, I was lucky enough to witness (and catch on camera) Rodgers rushing touchdown that became pretty popular the next couple of weeks. Packers left with the 24-14 win over the Bears and moved to 5-1 on the season. Also now 2-0 in games I have attended.
Speaking of records, do you as a sports fan ever have some weird superstition that you know is not correlated to your team at all but you just run with it anyways? Week one of the season the Packers got blown out by the Winston-lead New Orleans Saints team 38-3. I was wearing my Rodgers jersey and I have yet to wear that jersey again this season. Week 11 of the season I had gotten a new throwback Jaire Alexander jersey. I wore it and Green Bay took the L. Needless to say I have yet to wear either of those for another game this season as well. But my go to jersey that has been ole' reliable so far has been my green Adams jersey. The Packers ended the season 13-4, the Packers went 13-0 when I wore my Davante Adams jersey. And after them going 5-0 every time I wore it at that point I stuck with it and look how it turned out.
Its been a nine weeks since my last game and I was content with the ones I had attended this season. When I'm looking at the schedule I was looking into possibly going to the Week 15 Packers at Ravens matchup because the drive to Baltimore was just as long as the drive to Chicago was. Plus, Baltimore is a city I've never been to before. Taylor and I pulled the trigger anyways. We spent the weekend meeting new people, eating great food and finding a sense of happiness that nothing except experiencing new things can give to you. Baltimore was cute and had a bunch of different parts that gave you a small town feel even though they were apart of a big city. Sunday arrived and we showed up and yet another new stadium. The Packers were playing catch up the entire first half. The second half came around and the Packers began to pull away. But it seemed in the fourth quarter they had taken their foot of the gas because they began to blow a 14 point lead. With seconds left in the game the Ravens back up quarter back ran it in for a touchdown. I was stunned and in total awe how my team could let them come roaring back. Now the Ravens are only down by one and could easily tie the game with an extra point kick. I was so stressed. I sat down in my seat as all the Ravens fans were talking crap to me. Baltimore decided to go for two points and the win. The attempt failed and the Packers left the city with the 31-30 win and was able to move to 11-3 on the season.
To be honest, I don't know how Taylor is able to deal with my roller coaster of emotions I express during these games and the entire season but I sure am thankful she does. Fun fact that I learned while visiting Baltimore: did you know that the Ravens are named after and get their colors from Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem 'The Raven', because I sure didn't.
Three Green Bay Packers games in one season is more than I could ever imagine. Before this season I had only ever been to three Packer game in the entirety of my life. Each stadium I went to had drunk mean fans because I was rooting for the way away but it was still experiences I would never trade away for anything. But man do I need to take a 10 hour road trip up to Lambeau Field to be around my Packer people. Maybe next season!
It’s funny how people connect without knowing anything about each other except a few details. I commented on your solo travel article about my experience flying solo for the first time. I scanned your blog to see the first picture of the allegiant stadium which was the company I flew through out of Florida. Then I read over your post about how experiencing stadium life was to read that you loved my city! Cincinnati!!! I am thrilled that you enjoyed our town and I hope you come back to see us soon!
